Weddings

Our approach to weddings allows you to treat Murthly Castle and its chapel as your own private space in the days leading up to your wedding as well as the wedding day itself.

The castle is a private family home in Highland Perthshire, with no other visitors or events to distract us from helping you. This makes the castle an exclusive wedding venue in the true sense of the phrase. With access three days prior to your wedding, we give you the time and space to set things up as you want without feeling rushed. This also gives us the opportunity to get to know you and to learn how you want things to run, which results in a smooth-running day when it comes.

With a maximum of 12 weddings a year, each has its own character and we remember them all fondly. Design your wedding to suit your own needs - we have no set formulas and we will always endeavour to accommodate you. In short, we are here to help as much or as little as you want.

The local area

Murthly Castle is just over ten miles north of Perth, and less than five miles from Dunkeld and Birnam, where there is a huge variety of accommodation. A small, attractive settlement on the River Tay, it attracts many visitors and will add to the wedding experience for you and your guests.

If you decide to have your wedding here we'll give you our full list, which couples find helpful and reassuring in the planning stages. Of course, you're not restricted to our list - you can make your own choices. After all, it's your wedding.
