Weddings at Murthly Estate
At Murthly Estate we host just 12 weddings a year. This ensures that we give you our full attention, and keeps our venue more special than anywhere else in Scotland. We can host religious, humanist and civil wedding ceremonies in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, with receptions in the castle or the extensive walled garden.
Murthly Castle, the Chapel of St. Anthony the Eremite, the Douglas fir avenue and Walled Garden are exclusively yours, both on your wedding day and during the set-up period. You also have complete freedom of choice over suppliers, meaning you can create a wedding day entirely to your taste.
The Estate is set in landscaped grounds stretching for miles, and the castle is a private home, so there are never any other events or visitors to distract us from your wedding. Relax in the knowledge that you have plenty of time to prepare for your big day, with our help and advice at hand whenever you need it.

Murthly Estate is on Google Maps and is one hour from the Central Belt, 20 mins from Perth and four miles from Dunkeld and Birnam, which has plentiful accommodation. For local places to stay, have a look at the Dunkeld and Birnam Tourism Association, Glendelvine Estate and Meikleour Arms.

Our Proven Wedding Suppliers
At Murthly, it's entirely up to you which suppliers you choose to provide what you need for your wedding. However, we have plenty of experience of local suppliers and are always happy to give you the benefit of our experience to help you find the right people.
We have some fantastic local award-winning caterers, such as Ballintaggart, Gourlay, LovEvents, Season Catering and Wilde Thyme, while you'll find that Aran Bakery and the multiple award-winning Taystful make delicious wedding cakes.
If you're need of a marquee, then we have established relationships with Best Intents, Gourlay, the more traditional Myreton Marquee Hire and the rather quirky Papakata. You probably want to decorate your wedding marquee with flowers from Coach House Flowers or Something Special Flowers, both award winners.
If that feels like too much to organise, we also know a couple of really excellent wedding organisers who can manage things for you: Janice at Blue Thistle Weddings and Wendy at Utopia Scotland. They'll also make sure you can treasure your wedding day forever with great photographs and a video. We can recommend Laura at Eilidh Robertson, Nigel at Nigel Lumsden and Wedding Video Services.
Finally, no castle wedding is complete without a piper, and the best-dressed is undoubtedly Ian from Sinclair Pipers, who also boasts a great set of tunes and plenty of bonhomie. If you don't fancy arriving with a piper, perhaps you'd prefer to come with McIndoe Horse Drawn Carriages instead.
